Toms River Teen Hospitalized After He Falls Off Hood Of Moving Car In Lacey: Cops

A Toms River teen was injured late last night after he fell off a vehicle's closed trunk lid while the car was moving slowly, Lacey Sgt. Ronald Buxton said.
Joseph S. Gallo II was alert and conscious after the 11:20 p.m. accident in the 1200 block of Pensacola Road in Forked River. Several police officers, Lacey EMS personnel and MONOC paramedicals responded to the scene, he said.
Gallo had a laceration to the back of his head and complained of back pain. He was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where he was listed in stable condition, Buxton said.

The driver of the vehicle, Scott V. Spina Jr., 19, Bloomfield, remained at the scene at the scene after the accident.
"It was determined that the driver was not impaired and he did not display any signs of intoxication," Buxton said.

The incident is currently under investigation, he said.
