Vicari Insisted Veni Be Given $150,000 Contractor Position, Former County Department Head Says
Both men named in sexual harassment, gender discrimination lawsuit

Former Ocean County Buildings and Grounds Superintendent William A. Santos says he was told by longtime Freeholder Joseph H. Vicari to give independent contractor Joseph Veni a $150,000 contracting job that came with benefits, according to app.com.
Santos, who has since retired, said he was sickened when he was told Veni - who is now named along with Vicari in a sexual harassment and gender discrimination lawsuit - would get the job, despite the bidding process.
