Vote No on Lacey School District Referendum!!

The $92,500,000 bonding referendum is a disaster on many fronts. The Lacey Citizens For Responsible Government will never support such an over-bloated project with so many unnecessary frills that will do nothing to improve education. There are citizens in our town, some whom I know personally, who can no longer afford to live here because of the 9.9% tax increase inflicted on our residents this past year by the school board. Five individuals on the school board are responsible for this tax increase! Some members of our community have already had tax liens placed on their homes. I cannot in good conscience support something that will raise our taxes any higher and neither should any other caring citizen in our town. Those who only care about their own agenda are totally misguided. I blame the school board for this disaster. They knew all along about the cuts from the state. S2 The Senate Bill that changed our schools state funding was passed over 7 years ago, yet The School Board did nothing to plan for the cuts and just kept kicking the can down the road. Now because of their terrible decision making and incompetence the schools facilities have run into disrepair. This is NOT leadership. Now individuals in our town are suffering the possible loss of their homes because of their bad decision making. Please everyone.... Think hard before you Vote for this Referendum and remember there are many who will suffer if our taxes continue to climb. Senior Citizens are extremely vulnerable and are living on fixed incomes. We The People must stand firm. This is Our Town, Our Schools, and our money!.

The School Board should go back to the drawing board and only do piecemeal repairs and only those which are absolutely necessary . They can work this into their future operating budgets. After all how much more blood do they think they could draw from a stone!

Return YOUR money to YOURSELF- vote NO, retire the debt and $$$ comes back to YOU!
