3,800 In Lakewood Without Power As Thunderstorms Roll Through

More than 20,000 homes were without power across Ocean County, including more than 4,300 in Toms River and more than 1,000 in Jackson.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — Powerful thunderstorms moving through Ocean County have knocked out power to more than 3,800 homes in Lakewood on Thursday.

Traffic signals along Route 37 were knocked out as well, prompting a warning to motorists from the Ocean County Sheriff's Department.

More than 4,000 homes in Toms River and 1,000 in Jackson were affected by the outages as well, according to Jersey Central Power and Light.
