7 Synagogue, Business Burglaries Linked To Lakewood Man: Police

Mashon Wilson, 27, also is accused of a string of car burglaries, police said.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — A Lakewood man has been arrested following a four-month investigation into a string of burglaries at synagogues and businesses in the township, police said.

Mashon Wilson, 27, of Lynn Court, was arrested Wednesday after a search warrant was executed at his home, Lakewood police said. According to Ocean County Corrections Department online records, Wilson has been charged with 10 counts of burglary, five counts of theft, six counts of criminal michief and one count of arson.

Wilson is accused of burglarizing seven businesses and synagogues between Oct. 24 and early Dec. 5, police said. Among evidence seized during the search of his home were items connecting him to a burglary that happened at 3 a.m. Dec. 5 at a Hadassah Lane synagogue, police said.

Detectives Michael Cavallo and Chase Messer, assisted with information provided by Police Officer Kevin Martin, additionally connected Wilson to several car burglaries that occurred on Empire and Trudy lanes in early November, police said.

Wilson was being held at the Ocean County Jail in Toms River awaiting a detention hearing.
