Burglars Stole $10K In Prescription Drugs From 2 Lakewood Pharmacies
Authorities are seeking tips after two men smashed glass doors to break into the pharmacies, Lakewood police said.

LAKEWOOD, NJ β Two men are being sought after they smashed doors and broke into two Lakewood pharmacies early Monday, stealing more than $10,000 in prescription drugs, Lakewood police said Tuesday.
The first burglary happened about 1:20 a.m. at Emes Pharmacy on Cedar Bridge Avenue, Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith said. Police received an alert about a window break alarm but the burglars had already left when police arrived.
The suspects, described only as two men in dark clothing, had smashed a front glass door and stole about $10,000 in prescription drugs from the pharmacy, Staffordsmith said.

About 20 minutes later the two men smashed a rear glass door at a pharmacy on East County Line Road, he said. Police found the two had stolen about $700 worth of prescription drugs in the second burglary, Staffordsmith said.
"At this time we are working with all of our pharmacists to ensure the safeguarding of medication as well as increasing both our marked and unmarked patrol units," Staffordsmith said.
