Crash Kills 1 On County Line Road: Lakewood Police

The crash closed the road for more than four hours while the crash was investigated, police said.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — One person was killed Sunday morning in a motor vehicle crash on County Line Road, Lakewood police said.

No information was immediately available on the victim and Lakewood Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith said the investigation "is very active at this time."

Lakewood police issued a Nixle alert about 9:30 a.m. that County Line Road was closed between Hope Chapel Road and Tanglewood Lane because of the crash; it reopened sometime after 2 p.m. according to a follow-up alert.

The Lakewood Scoop was reporting the person killed was a man in his 20s who is a member of the Orthodox community. The publication said he was "a special soul" who was well-known in the community and was a talented guitar player.
