Get Rid Of Unneeded Prescriptions At Drug Take Back Day In Lakewood
Medications that are no longer needed can be disposed of safely at the collection event, which aims to keep pills off the streets.
LAKEWOOD, NJ β Do you have prescription medication sitting in your cabinet that you no longer need?
You can dispose of it safely on Saturday, April 22, and Sunday, April 23, at the Take Back Day prescription medication collection event.
Lakewood police said Saturday drop-off locations are available by calling 732-363-0200, ext. 2225.

On Sunday, people can drop off unneeded medications at Chemed, 1771 Madison Ave., in the lobby from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
You can drop off unneeded or expired medications that are in pill or dry forms. They cannot accept needles or liquid medications. No identification is necessary; prescription labels should be removed from the containers.

The goal of National Prescription Take Back Day is to get prescription medications that are not needed out of the reach of people who will steal them and try to sell them on the streets illegally.
If you are unable to drop off medications on Saturday, there is a medication dropbox in the lobby at the police department, 231 3rd St. It is accessible and secure around the clock seven days a week.
