Jackson Man Accused Of Firing Gun Into Concrete: Lakewood Police
A woman sought treatment at the hospital for shrapnel wounds, police said.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — A Jacksom man has bee charged with aggravated assault in connection with shots that were fired in Lakewood on Thursday evening, police said.
Christian Grimes, 20, of Jackson, was arrested at the scene after the incident, which happened about 9:45 p.m. Thursday, Lakewood Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith said.
A .40-caliber handgun, later determined to be a stolen weapon out of South Carolina, was recovered at the scene, Staffordsmith said.

Police were called to the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Center Street for a report of shots fired, and the investigation revealed Grimes "negligently fired" a shot into a concrete walkway, he said. A short time later, Lakewood police were notified that Yadae Marrow, 19, of Jackson, had sought treatment at Hackensack Meridian Ocean Medical Center in Brick after she was struck in the legs by shrapnel. She was later discharged with minor injuries, Staffordsmith said.
Detective Oscar Valmon and Officer DiStefano investigated and charged Grimes with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon. He is being held at the Ocean County Jail awaiting a detention hearing.
