Lakewood Man Accused Of Exposing Himself In Parking Lot: Police

The man has been charged with lewdness in the incident.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — A Lakewood man has been arrested after he allegedly exposed himself to people in a parking lot of a shopping center on Madison Avenue, Lakewood police said Friday.

Gerardo Santiago-Velazquez, 31, of Lakewood was arrested Thursday and charged with lewdness in the incident, which happened Tuesday, Lakewood Lt. LeRoy Marshall said.

Police were called to the shopping center at 1700 Madison Avenue about 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday for a report of a man exposing himself. Police Officers John Ganley and Grant were told by witnesses that the man, described as a younger Hispanic male, had left the area, but provided a license plate number for the man's vehicle, Marshall said.

Officer Kevin Martin of the detective bureau arrested Santiago-Velazquez on Thursday. He was released on a summons pending a future court hearing, Marshall said.
