Lakewood Man Shared Child Porn: Prosecutor

John Jandola, 38, was arrested Thursday, authorities said.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — A Lakewood man has been charged with distribution of child pornography after authorities say he was downloading and sharing images of prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts, Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato said Thursday.

John Jandola, 39, of Canterbury Court, Lakewood, was arrested Thursday, Coronato and Lakewood Police Chief Gregory Meyer said in the joint announcement.

Jandola is charged with one count of second-degree distribution of child pornography and one count of third-degree possession of child pornography, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the prosecutor's office.

The arrest resulted from proactive cyber monitoring by the High Tech Crime Unit of the prosecutor's office and from a referral from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations into Jandola allegedly sharing and downloading images of prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts, he said.

On Feb. 22, authorities executed a search warrant at Jandola's home and confiscated his personal computer, Della Fave said, and after examining the computer, returned and arrested him Thursday. The charges were approved by Senior Assistant Prosecutor Kristin Pressman, he said.
