Lakewood School Administrator Faces Child Porn Charge: Prosecutor

The administrator, an assistant principal at Lakewood High School, was charged last week, an official confirmed.

LAKEWOOD, NJ – A Lakewood School District administrator has been charged with possessing child pornography, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office confirmed Tuesday afternoon.

Major L. Finklin, 63, an assistant principal at Lakewood High School, was arrested last Thursday by Brick Township Police, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the prosecutor's office.

Della Fave said the investigation originated in Brick; Finklin lives in Toms River. Finklin's computers were seized during the investigation.

The High-Tech Crime Unit is examining the computers for more evidence, he said, confirming a report by Jersey Shore Online.

Finklin's salary was $114,306 as of October 2016, according to information from DataUniverse. He has worked for the district for 14 years, according to the site.

Last week The Lakewood Scoop reported that a longtime school official turned himself in but did not name the official.

An email requesting comment from Lakewood Superintendent Laura Winter and the school board attorney, Michael Inzelbuch, was not immediately answered.
