Masked Men Stabbed Lakewood Man, Stole His BMW: Police
Police are seeking tips but say the men are armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — Three men are being sought after they stabbed a Lakewood man and stole his BMW Sunday night on East Spruce Street, police said.
The 24-year-old victim suffered at least two stab wounds to his chest and a cut to the head, Lakewood Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith said. The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
The incident was first reported about 10:50 p.m. when police responded to a home security alarm at an East Spruce Street home and found blood on the porch. Police then were called to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood for a man with a stab wound.

The victim told police he had just arrived at a friend's home on East Spruce Street when he was approached by three men wearing ski masks. Two of the suspects were described as about 5-foot-5 and chunky, and the other as 5-foot-10 to 5-foot-11 and thin. All three approached the driver side door of his black 2007 BMW and pulled him out of the car. A struggle ensued and he was cut and stabbed during the struggle, Staffordsmith said.
The three men then jumped in the BMW and sped off, he said. The victim found his friend, who took him to the hospital.

Staffordsmith said police are still searching for the BMW, with New Jersey license plate number J96-GXJ, which has not been recovered.
"If you should see the vehicle, DO NOT approach it or its occupants. Call 9-1-1 immediately," police said.
Officers Nicholas Romeo, Derek McAvoy and Tymur Zavalnyuk responded. Anyone with information regarding the case is urged to contact Officer Kevin Martin at 732-363-0200 ext. 5340.
