Pilot Injured As Small Plane Crashes At Lakewood Airport

The pilot's injuries were not life-threatening, according to reports.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — One person was injured Saturday when a small plane crashed at the Lakewood Township Airport, according to reports.

The plane was towing banner and crashed just short of the runway, Jersey Shore Online reported. An FAA spokeswoman told NJ.com that the plane, a Bellanca aircraft, landed in the trees short of runway 6.

Ocean County Scanner News said the crash was reported at 12:48 p.m.

The pilot was the only person on the plane and was injured in the crash, the Asbury Park Press reported. The injuries were not life-threatening, NJ.com reported.

Lakewood Airport sits along Cedar Bridge Avenue in the Lakewood industrial park.
