Route 9 Closed In Lakewood Due To Fire: Sheriff
Breaking: The sheriff's office said there is a structure fire and firefighters on the scene; avoid the area if possible.
LAKEWOOD, NJ — Motorists are being urged to avoid Route 9 in the area of Route 88 and First Street in Lakewood, where firefighters are battling a structure fire, according to the Ocean County sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office issued a Nixle alert saying Route 9 is closed in the area.
Scanner reports say the fire is in a building near the intersection of First Street and Forest Avenue.
