LAKEWOOD, NJ — (Updated, 10:30 p.m. Monday) Two Lakewood teenagers who went missing Monday afternoon have been found safe, police said.

A Nixle alert from Lakewood police at 10:25 p.m. said the 14-year-old, who had been reported missing about 2 p.m., had been found safe. "Thanks to everyone who assisted tonight," the alert said.

The Lakewood Scoop reported police were searching for two teens, whose photos were shared on a flyer distributed by authorities. The missing persons flyer said the girls, Nadia Ramirez, 14, and and Wendy Betancourt, 15, were in attendance at Lakewood High School Monday morning but left school early.

The flyer said Ramirez was reported missing by her parents and was last spoken to at 2 p.m. Monday; it said drops of blood were found outside her bedroom. The flyer also said Ramirez does not have a cell phone; authorities believed she was in the company of Betancourt, whose cell phone was found in Ramirez's bedroom, according to the flyer.
