LAKEWOOD, NJ — A Tier 3 convicted sex offender has been arrested and charged with failing to register his address with authorities after moving into Lakewood, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said Saturday.
David McBride, 54, of Lakewood, was arrested Friday by Detective Argento of the Megan's Law unit of the prosecutor’s office with assistance from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, according to Al Della Fave, spokesman for the prosecutor's office.
McBride, who is a Tier 3 sex offender, had been in the Ocean County Jail on an unrelated charge, Della Fave said . In preparation for his release on June 5, 2018, he signed required documents indicating that he would be living at an address in Lakewood and acknowledged he was required under the Megan's Law statute to register his new address within 48 hours with the Lakewood Police Department upon his release, Della Fave said.
