2 Men Charged With Murder In Stabbing Death At Mercer Basketball Game
The brothers had an ongoing dispute with Khalil Glanton over a female, authorities said.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Two brother were charged with murder in the stabbing death of Khalil Glanton which happened last week at the CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said Tuesday.
Kareem Finney, 25, and Kahli Finney, 20, of Trenton, are each charged with first-degree murder and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. The brothers were taken into custody Tuesday afternoon at the Mercer County Criminal Courthouse, Onofri said.
Around 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 16 Glanton was stabbed at the CURE Insurance Arena on Hamilton Avenue where Trenton police officers were working at a basketball tournament. Officers requested assistance after a large fight occurred on the main concourse between sections 111 and 112 moments after the game ended, Onofri said. As officers were attempting to break up the fight, they found Glanton lying on the ground unresponsive with multiple stab wounds to his upper torso. Glanton, 23, was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later, Onofri said.
During the investigation, authorities reviewed multiple videos and spoke with several witnesses.Kareem Finney was identified as holding Glanton while his younger brother, Kahli, repeatedly stabbed him, Onofri said. The investigation also revealed that the Finney brothers had an ongoing dispute with Glanton over a female, authorities said.

The prosecutor’s office will file motions to detain Kareem and Kahli Finney pending trial.
