7 Candidates Running For 3 Seats On Lawrence BOE In 2022

Four newcomers are looking to unseat three incumbents. All candidates are seeking three-year terms.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — Seven candidates have thrown their hats in the ring in hopes of filling three open seats on the Lawrence Township Board of Education, according to Mercer County officials.

The last day to file applications to run for the BOE race was Monday 4 p.m. All candidates are seeking three-year terms.

Three incumbents — Michelle King, Patricia "Pepper" Evans and Amanda Santos — are seeking reelection. They are running under the common slate of "Building Tomorrow Together."

Evans has been a board member since 2013, King since 2016 and Santos was elected in 2021.

They are being challenged by Carlos Raziel Rodriguez, Thomas Figueira, Amy Gregory and Nathanael Gregory.

Election in New Jersey will be held on Nov. 8.
