Birding Trips With Washington Crossing Audubon Society in June
Join Washington Crossing Audubon Society for free, guided birding trips in June.
Washington Crossing Audubon Society announces the following events for June 2015:
· June 6, 2015. “Mercer County Park Northwest”, a free, public birding trip with Washington Crossing Audubon Society
Join Washington Crossing Audubon Society (www.washingtoncrossingaudubon.org) at 8:00 AM on Saturday, June 6 for a free, public birding trip led by Sharyn Magee at Mercer County Park Northwest, known more familiarly as “The Pole Farm”. Come with us as we walk the paths and compare the flora and fauna to that of adjacent Rosedale Park.

Directions: From the traffic light at Manors Corner shopping center on Pennington-Lawrenceville Road, take Keefe Road toward Princeton for 1.1 miles to the bend where it meets Cold Soil Road. The entrance is on the left of the bend, through a chain link
gate. There is a white barn on the left inside the gate. Go straight on the macadam road to the parking area. If starting in Princeton take Cold Soil Road 1.1 miles past Blackwell Road to the bend, and look for entrance on right. Call Brad Merritt at (609) 921-8964 if additional information is needed.

· June 13, 2015. “Washington Crossing State Park”, a free, public birding trip with Washington Crossing Audubon
Join Washington Crossing Audubon Society (www.washingtoncrossingaudubon.org) from 8:30 AM on Saturday, June 13 for a free, public birding trip led by
Wayne Hendrick and Franta Broulik at Washington Crossing State Park. We will walk a few of the many trails in the park looking for spring migrants and resident birds in wooded areas and adjacent fields.
Directions: Washington Crossing State Park is located off of Washington Crossing – Pennington Road in Titusville, NJ. Enter the park and follow signs to the Nature Center. Park at the Nature Center parking lot. Call Brad Merritt at (609) 921-8964 if additional information is needed.
· June 20, 2015. “Assunpink Wildlife Management Area”, a free, public birding trip with Washington Crossing Audubon
Join Washington Crossing Audubon Society (www.washingtoncrossingaudubon.org) at 8:30 AM on Saturday, June 20 for a free, public birding trip led by John Maret, Brad Merritt and Andrew Bobe. We will be looking for resident birds such as blue grosbeaks, orchard orioles and cedar waxwings, as well as butterflies.
Directions: Take I-195 East to exit 11 (Imlaystown). Proceed North on Imlaystown Road for 2.6 miles to the parking area at Lake Assunpink. Call Brad Merritt at (609) 921-8964 if additional information is needed.

Washington Crossing Audubon Society has approximately 1600 members, mostly from the five counties of central New Jersey. Its monthly lectures and frequent field trips are free and open to the public.
