The Rider University men's swimming and diving team defeated Fordham and lost to Yale with the Bronc women swept by Rutgers and Fordham Saturday afternoon (Jan. 26) in Piscataway in a quad-meet.

PISCATAWAY — The Rider University men’s swimming and diving team defeated Fordham and lost to Yale with the Bronc women swept by Rutgers and Fordham Saturday afternoon (Jan. 26) in Piscataway in a quad-meet.
For the Rider women, senior Kelly O’Connor (Beverly, Mass./Beverly) was second in the 200 fly (2:06.53) and took third in the 400 IM (4:37.76).

For the Rider men, senior Brian Molloy (Toms River/Toms River HS East) was second in both the 50 free (21.59) and 200 free (1:41.95). Molloy was also third in the 500 free (4:45.56).
Senior Johnny Funk (Las Vegas, Nev./Southeast Career & Tech. Academy) was runner-up in the 100 back (51.84) and the 200 back (1:54.62) and third in the 400 IM (4:08.78) with freshman Adam Phillips (Springville, Pa./Elk Lake) finishing second in the 100 breast (59.04). Phillips was also third in the 200 breast (2:12.15).

Junior diver Trevor Hiller (Galloway Twp./Absegami) won the one-meter (288.45) and was second on the three-meter board (286.55).
The men’s 400 free relay of Molloy, Phillips, freshman Jeffrey Prichard (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) and senior Julien Hensen (Delafield, Wis./Kettle Moraine) was second with a time of 3:10.97 and the 200 medley relay of Funk, Hensen, sophomore Zachary DeLillo (Reading, Pa./Wilson) and Phillips was second with a time of 1:35.00.
The women’s 400 free relay of senior Addie Oswald (Henderson, Nev./Green Valley), senior Carly Misiewicz (Vineland/Sacred Heart), sophomore Gess Charniga (Kendall Park/South Brunswick) and sophomore Carlee Oswald (Henderson, Nev./Green Valley) was third with a time of 3:43.57.
Rider competes at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championships February 14-16 in Buffalo, New York at Erie Community College. The Rider men are defending MAAC champions with the Bronc women placing runner-up in 2011-12.
