College Swimming and Diving - Rider Men: Rider University 178, Marist 123; Rider Women: Marist 177, Rider University 122
The Rider University men's swimming and diving team defeated Marist 178-123 Saturday (Nov. 17) in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference meet. The Rider women were defeated by the Red Foxes 177-122.

Poughkeepsie, NY. - The Rider University men’s swimming and diving team defeated Marist 178-123 Saturday (Nov. 17) in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference meet.
The Rider women were defeated by the Red Foxes 177-122.
For the Rider men, sophomore Brett Pederson (Sewell, N.J./St. Augustine Prep) swam for first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.98) and 100-yard freestyle (47.44). Senior Brian Molloy (Toms River, N.J./Toms River HS East) won the 1000-yard freestyle (9:57.98) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:41.58) events.

Senior Julien Hensen added two individual victories winning both the 100-yard breaststroke in 59.88 and the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:15.23. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Molloy, freshman Adam Phillips (Springville, Pa./Elk Lake), freshman Jeffrey Prichard (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) and Pederson wrapped up the meet finishing first in 3:12.27.
For the Rider women, sophomore Morgan Kandrac picked up two first place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.79) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:30.42). Senior Kelly O’Connor (Beverly, Mass.) won the 200-yard butterfly in 1:09.79. The 400-yard freestyle team of senior Addie Oswald (Henderson, NV/Green Valley), Carly Misiewicz (Vineland, N.J./Sacred Heart), junior Danielle Warwick (Catonsville Md./Mount de Sales) ended the meet with a first place time of 3:39.70.

The men’s 200-yard medley relay team of Hensen, senior Johnny Funk (Las Vegas, Nev./Southeast Career & Tech Academy), sophomore Zach DeLillo (Reading, Pa./Wilson) and Molloy opened the meet finishing first in 1:35.85. Funk swam for first place in the 100-yard backstroke clocking a 52.43 and freshman Shane Tubb (Swedesboro, N.J./St. Augustine Prep) won the 200-yard butterfly in 1:58.86. On the 1-meter diving board, junior Trevor Hiller (Galloway Twp, N.J./Absegami) took first scoring a 328.57.
Also for the Rider men, Funk swam for second in both the 200-yard backstroke (1:54.52) and the 200-yard individual medley (1:57.32). Freshman Evan Paules (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) earned a second place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke behind Hensen, with a time of 2:15.71 and sophomore Kevin McManus placed second in the 500-yard freestyle (4:52.87) behind Molloy.
Also for the Rider women, sophomore Gess Charniga (Kendall Park, N.J./South Brunswick) placed second in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.13) and the 50-yard freestyle (25.34). Carlee Oswald finished second in the 100-yard freestyle (55.07) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.58). Addie Oswald was runner up in the 200-yard backstroke swimming a 2:11.59 and O’Connor placed second in both the 100-yard butterfly (59.41) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:13.00).Both the Rider men and women will compete in the Brown Invite Nov. 30 thru Dec. 2 in Providence, Rhode Island.
