College Track and Field: Rider Women at Boston University Terrier Invite

The Rider University women's track and field team competed at Boston University's Terrier Invitational Friday (Jan. 25).

BOSTON, Mass. - The Rider University women’s track and field team competed at Boston University’s Terrier Invitational Friday (Jan. 25).

The all-day meet took place at the BU Track and Tennis Center.

For the Rider women, freshman Dashana Ransome (Irvington) set a Rider record finishing second in the 60-meter hurdles, running an ECAC qualifying time of 8.72 in the finals.

Also for the Rider women, freshman Latazah Coleman (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink) placed fifth in the 200-meter dash, qualifying for ECAC’s clocking a time of 24.78. Sophomore Emily Ritter (Millsboro, Del/Sussex Tech) finished 11th in the 1-mile run, setting a new Rider record of 4:57.73 and qualifying for ECAC’s.

Senior Megan Elgin (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) placed 17th  in the women’s 3,000-meter run in Rider record and ECAC qualifying time of 9:53.92.

The Rider men will run in the Terrier Invitational Saturday (Jan. 26).
