College Volleyball: Niagara University 3, Rider University 1
The Rider University volleyball team lost a match to the three-time defending MAAC champion Niagara University Purple Eagles on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 28) in Alumni Gymnasium.

LAWRENCEVILLE — Despite 16 kills each from senior Stephanie Nagy (Muscatine, Iowa/Muscatine) and sophomore Jaclyn Webber (Anaheim, Calif./Canyon), the Rider University volleyball team lost a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match to the three-time defending MAAC champion Niagara University Purple Eagles on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 28) in Alumni Gymnasium.
Nagy hit .417 in the match with Webber adding 14 digs for a ‘double-double’.
Niagara (14-10, 11-3 MAAC) won 22-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-16 in a match that featured 20 ties and nine lead changes.

Also for Rider (11-13, 4-10 MAAC), junior Bridget Sheerin (Oak Lawn, Ill./Marist) had 13 digs and 10 kills with sophomore Ashlee Amatulli (Menifee, Calif./Temecula Valley) adding 48 assists and 13 digs with each compiling a ‘double-double’.
Senior Brittany Gajewski (Whitehouse Station/Hunterdon Central) compiled 27 digs for Rider.

Niagara out-hit Rider .324 to .222.
The Purple Eagles also defeated Rider 3-1 on September 22 to sweep the season series.
Rider travels to New Rochelle on Nov. 1 for a MAAC match against Iona College.
