A five-run explosion in the third inning carried Houlihan's to a 9-2 win in five innings over Captain Paul at Hughes field on Tuesday, April 23rd. Houlihan's quickly matched Captain Paul's strong inning with a two-run inning of its own in the second. Houlihan's scored on a steal of home by Gianni Leonardo and an RBI single by Adam Levinsky. Captain Paul's ace pitcher, Kevin DallePazze made two incredible back hand grabs on the mound getting outs in the first and second innings. Connor Monoghan had a strong "at bat" with a double in the first inning.
The teams traded hits for most of the contest, but Houlihan's finally managed to grab the lead after a strong third inning. Houlihan's scored on an RBI single by Sean Cocoran off reliever Roshan Aiayar, bringing home Gianni Leonardo. Sean Cocoran racked up two RBIs on two hits for Houlihan's. Pate Jessop recorded the win for Houlihan's. He allowed two runs over 4 1/3 innings. Pate struck out eight, walked one and surrendered nine hits.
Houlihan's added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth. The inning looked promising, as Sean doubled, scoring Davin Jodoin. That was followed up by Thomas Rotman's single, bringing Sean Cocoran in for the win.
