Houlihan's loses 13-8 to Bossio's in the "Game of the Week"

Fans were treated to a great game this past Saturday night, May 4th, and one spectactor was overheard saying, "It's the game of the century." Kids say the darndest things.

The bottom of the first saw Bossio's take an early lead, 1-0. Bossio's got things going when Thomas Monacchio singled. A stolen base then moved Thomas from first to second. Shaun Johnson singled, plating Thomas.

Houlihan's answered the call in the top of the second with bases loaded and a single by Thomas Rotman. Sean Corcoran, Pate Jessop and Gianni Leonardo stole bases and Houlihan's went ahead 4-1.

Bossio's came back with a single by Thomas Monacchio, Luke Sanjek and Peter Teti loading the bags. Luke Sanjek was picked off at second and Peter Teti advanced on a wild pitch. A double by Jake Bennett and Shaun Johnson brought score to 4-4 in the bottom of the second. Bossio's handed Houlihan's three quick outs starting the 3rd inning. Bossio's then went ahead 5-4 with a single by David Ferdetta scoring Kyle Vichroski in the bottom of the third.

Houlihan's managed to take the lead back at the top of the fourth 5-4 with Conner Monoghan getting on base with a single and stealing home.

Bossio's took the game back with a triple by Edward Coplin and a single by Kyle Vichroski bringing in David Ferdetta and Jake Bennett. With the side retired, Bossio's was back in the lead 8-5.

Despite a few more runs and stolen bases by Houlihan's Matt Kildea, Gianni Leonardo and Conner Monoghan, tying the game at 8-8 wasn't enough for what unfolded in the bottom of the fifth.

Bossio's Edward Coplin launched a hit into Centerfield with the bases loaded scoring Thomas Monnachio and Jake Bennett. Kyle Vichroski then tripled into left field followed by a double by David Ferdetta. This brought in 5 runs. Bossio's never surrendered the lead after the fifth inning, scoring five runs on two doubles and an RBI triple by Kyle.
