Houlihan's battles for 11-9 victory over Candela's

Fans were treated to a high-scoring game this past Saturday, April 27 as Houlihan's outscored Candela's 11-9 in six innings on Hughes Field.

There were 25 hits, including eight extra base hits in the game. The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to nine lead changes in the game. Houlihan's finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fifth inning. A walk by Matt Kildea scored Sean Corcoran and gave Houlihan's the lead for good. Houlihan's' Sean Cocoran was perfect at the dish, going 3-3. He tripled in the second inning and singled in the third and fifth innings.

Davin Jodoin recorded the win for Houlihan's even though he allowed nine runs over four innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered 11 hits.

Candela's jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first. John Weaver got things going for Candela's with a single. Will Kocsis singled, scoring Liam Keene. Candela's then tacked on more runs when Kocsis and Keene scored on a two-run double.

It didn't take long for Houlihan's to respond as it scored five runs of its own in the third. Houlihan's scored on a steal of home by Davin Jodoin, a steal of home by Gianni Leonardo, a steal of home by Sean Cocoran, a steal of home by Thomas Rotman, and an RBI single by Adam Levinsky.

Houlihan's went up for good in the fifth scoring three total runs on two singles.
