Houlihan's fights for 9-8 victory over Captain Paul's

Houlihan's dug in deep defensively and managed a win Thursday night, May 2, outscoring Captain Paul's, 9-8 in five innings on Hughes Field.

Conner Monoghan of Houlihan's had a rough start on the mound and Captain Paul's came out swinging hard and got on the board with two runs in the first with a strong at bats by Miles Kron and Aidan Loghran. Houlihan's answered back tying the game 2-2 at the bottom of the 2nd.

After a couple of errors at second base by Houlihan's, Captain Paul's came back strong in the 3rd going ahead 6-3. After throwing 70 pitches in just 3 innings, Conner Monoghan handed over the game to relieving pitcher Sean Corcoran. Sean quickly found the zone and Houlihan's defense kicked in. Quick outs were made by Thomas Rotman catching another huge fly playing Center and Gianni Leonardo made an easy out with the tag at 1st.

Houlihan's answered back with hits by Conner Monaghan, Matt Roman, Adam Levinsky and a line drive double to centerfield by Davin Jodoin. That tied it up 6-6.

Captain Paul's Jacob Abrams and Matthew DeMott got on base and managed steals at home going ahead 8-6. Again, Houlihan's answered the call and finished off with the game with a strong at bats and a strong defense ending the game, 9-8.
