Celebrate Farmers' Market Week Today

Visit the Trenton Farmers' Market today to pick up some tasty Jersey Fresh produce to commemorate statewide Farmers' Market Week.

Peaches and plums and pluots, oh my!

Corn and cabbage and carrots...I could go on forever listing the various combinations that are ripe for alliteration at the  on Spruce Street in Lawrence Township.

The bounty is fresh, and just in time, since New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture Douglas H. Fisher declared on Tuesday that this week is to be heralded as a state-wide Farmers' Market Week in the state.

Fisher is calling on Garden State residents and visitors to stop in at a community farmers' market and buy Jersey Fresh agricultural products.

There are 147 community farmers' markets in the state, 12 of which are new this year. Farmers who attend these markets sell produce they’ve picked at the peak of ripeness within 24 hours of sale to ensure the best taste and highest quality.
