Chapin School Unveils New Facilities Benefiting Students Today and Tomorrow

Chapin's new Upper School building completes its Limitless Futures capital campaign

Princeton, New Jersey – Chapin School’s Limitless Futures Capital Campaign successfully raises over $8 million and funds completion of the ambitious multi-year, multi-million dollar building project. With the recent conclusion of Phase II, there is now a two-story 14,000 sq. ft. middle school addition, including classrooms, technology lab, offices, meeting rooms, and a learning commons. Phase I, competed in the summer of 2014, brought 13,000 sq. ft. of additional space for the Lower School, featuring a commons area, library/media center, technology lab, and a science lab specifically designed for elementary age students.“This is an extraordinary moment in the school’s history, bringing significantly enhanced facilities for the Chapin students of today, and promising, limitless opportunities for the students of tomorrow,” said Dr. Pamela Fiander, Head of School. “All of the new facilities are designed and constructed to LEED silver standards.”Lauding the school’s strong academic program and focus on character education, Mr. Jamie Griswold, President of the Chapin Board of Trustees said, “It’s an immense honor to witness the opening of the new buildings, and to see students benefit from a state-of-the-art learning environment. Coupled with the latest technologies and a first-class faculty, my daughter continues raving about how excited she is to go to school each day.” Commemorating this historic event, the official September 8thribbon cutting ceremony included dignitaries Bill Ehert, Owner’s Representative, Walter Kneisand Kevin Edwards of NK Architects, and George Ziminskiof TriStates Capital Bank, Chapin Board of Trustees Dina Brewer, Kate Bricker, Chris Foglio, Kristin McLaughlin, Patrizia Thomas, and Lou Valente, along with Upper School Head Gil Olvera, and his faculty team.
