Chiu-Ling Lin, Solo Piano

The Greater Princeton Steinway Society's second masterful piano concert of the season.

Internationally renowned pianist and educator Chiu-Ling Lin will be the featured recitalist for the Greater Princeton Steinway Society on Sunday, October 11. The concert will take place at 3 p.m. in the Recital Hall at Jacobs Music, 2540 Brunswick Pike (U.S. Route 1), Lawrenceville.

A social hour with refreshments and conversation with Ms. Lin will follow her performance.

Hailed as “a superb artist whose pianism is a perfect combination of temperament, intellectual understanding, discipline and spontaneity,” Ms. Lin has performed in Peru, Argentina, and Brazil as an Artistic Ambassador for the United States Information Agency. She has soloed with fourteen orchestras, including the Des Moines Symphony, where she is Principal Keyboard Player. Her Steinway musicale will feature works by Ravel, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and N. Kapustin.

Now in its 26th season, The Greater Princeton Steinway Society’s 2015-16 schedule features performances by five internationally celebrated pianists, followed in March 2016 by two professional jazz pianists performing as a duo. The season will also include the Society’s annual scholarship competition for young pianists 7 to 18 that will culminate in a Winners Recital in May 2016.

Founded in 1989, the Steinway Society is dedicated to developing the talent of young piano students. All proceeds from ticket sales help fund scholarship awards for aspiring young pianists.

The remaining musicales in the current season will showcase the artistry of Thomas Purviance on Sunday, November 8; Esma Pasic-Filipovic on Sunday, January 17, 2016; Todd Van Kekerix on Sunday, February 14; and the veteran jazz pianists Steve Kramer and Glenn McClelland on Sunday, March 13. All of the concerts will take place at 3 p.m. at Jacobs Music.

Steinway Society memberships are $50 per individual or $85 per family and include admission to all six musicales. Tickets for individual musicales are $18 for adults or $10 for full-time students, and may be purchased at the Jacobs Music Recital Hall 30 minutes before each program.

Benefactors contributing $100 and up, and Sponsors contributing $250 or more, also earn admission to all six musicales, plus recognition in the concert programs.
