North Brunswick-based Kalogridis Contacting LLC was the only bidder for the project and their previous bid was rejected as the costs were higher than the town’s estimate.

“We rejected the bid previously. After the engineer has considered certain cost factors that were higher than first estimated, we believe this is an appropriate amount,” Township Manager Kevin Nerwinski said during the meeting.

The township will be constructing the trail on part of the 5.8-acre land that the Township acquired in 2020.

The trail is expected to be 1,200 feet long and eight feet wide. It will begin from the existing trail on the north of Colonial Lake and end at the sidewalk connection on Route 1.
