County To Collect Hazardous Waste In Lawrence Township April 8

Collection will take place at the Dempster Fire School at 350 Lawrence Station Road.

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Mercer County Improvement Authority will host a Hazardous Waste Collection event in Lawrence Township on Saturday, April 8, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Collection will take place at the Dempster Fire School at 350 Lawrence Station Road.

Items accepted during the collection include aerosol cans, used motor oil, propane gas tanks, pesticides and herbicides, car batteries, paint thinner, oil based paints, stains and varnishes, gasoline, anti-freeze, driveway sealer, insect repellants, mercury and fluorescent and CFL bulbs.

Items that will not be accepted include latex paint, heating oil, infectious waste, radioactive materials, explosives or munitions, railroad tires, asbestos, tires, wood, fencing, air conditioners, helium or oxygen tanks and unknown elements.

Computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, stereos, TVs and microwaves will be accepted.

This event is for Mercer County residential waste only. No commercial businesses will be allowed, and proof of residency will be required.
