County Officials To Discuss Foreign Trade Zone With Businesses

A free seminar will be held in Mercer County Dec. 6.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ - Mercer County businesses that import products from international markets are invited to attend a free, informative seminar regarding the Mercer County Foreign Trade Zone.

The seminar, which includes a continental breakfast, will take place on Thursday, Dec. 6, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Boathouse at Mercer Lake, Mercer County Park in West Windsor.

Kathleen Boyce, a foreign trade zone (FTZ) board official in the International Trade Administration office of the U.S. Department of Commerce and Mercer County representatives will offer insight into the benefits and expectations of the FTZ.

“The Mercer County FTZ provides a unique opportunity for Mercer County businesses or those interested in relocating here to reduce costs and increase profit margins,” Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes said.

Located throughout Mercer County, the Mercer FTZ allows companies to achieve duty deferral, reduction and/or elimination on products that they purchase overseas.
