Emerge New Jersey Selects Dr. Denalerie Johnson-Faniel For Political Training Class
She's In It, To Win It!

Emerge New Jersey, the premier political training program for Democratic women, is pleased to announce that Denalerie Johnson-Faniel, PhD, who resides in Lawrenceville, was selected to be in the second training class—a total of only eleven women. The training course will run for six months and will include sessions ranging in topic from public speaking to campaign strategy and fundraising. “Emerge makes a long-term investment in candidates by building their leadership skills, providing campaign training and building a network of Democratic women to help them run for – and win – elected office, “explains Emerge New Jersey’s Executive Director Karen Hartshorn Hilton.
Faniel is an educator and organizational development consultant with a global non-profit background in self-sufficiency and human development. She works with functional units to maximize internal and external resources to leverage involvement and foster connections within diverse communities. She has vast experience in human services and overseeing non-profit organizations from all angles, including: strategic planning and vision, fundraising and community affairs, marketing, program operations, and workforce development.
In the past year, Faniel has led more than 130 youth engagement, collegiate, and multicultural community events, which has inspired her to run for office. “I see my passion in a township council position. I am an active member of the community, serving on boards and participating in a number of women, people of color, differently abled and LGBT civic organizations,” said Faniel. “The residents of Lawrence Township have worked hard to build a community that is affordable, safe, clean and beautiful; and I would like to help continue bridging the literal and cultural gap between Princeton and Trenton.”
