Let's Move! Lawrence walk and ride Day

Sustainable Lawrence, the Lawrence Green Team and The Lawrence Sustainable Mobility Committee have joined forces with other community groups to host Let's Move, Lawrence, a bike and walk event to promote exercise and healthy living. The even will be held on June 11th, 2011.

The day will begin with the annual walk sponsored by the Lawrence Greenway Committee at 9:00 am. Participants will gather at the entrance to the Loveless Preserve on Eggerts Crossing Road beginning at 8:30. Then, at 10:00 am the new bridge at the Johnson Trolley track over Five Mile Run, will be dedicated with a ceremony by Lawrence Township officials. At 10:30 participants will choose a route to walk or bike through the trails system. There will be three designated routes: a 15 mile bike ride, an 8 mile ride joining with Ewing Township trails, and a 2 mile walk or ride through Lawrence Trails ending at the Spruce ave. Farmer's Market or the Lawrence Nature Center.

 The bridge and rides are dedicated to Ralph Copleman, the founder and past Ececutive Director of sustaianble Lawrence. Public places along the way will be open and will offer refreshments for sale, information and other programs. Maps and details will be sent soon.
