Fall Registration Open for Girls on the Run East, Including in Lawrenceville

The program uses running to empower young girls. Locally, the program will be provided at Village Park in Lawrenceville.

Girls on the Run New Jersey East is registering 3rd-8th grade girls for its upcoming fall season. GOTR is a physical-based youth development program that inspires girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running.

Trained volunteer coaches meet with the girls twice per week for 10 weeks at school and park sites where they teach skills that will boost girls in the ways they need it most as they enter their adolescent years.

The program empowers participants as it encourages personal development, team building, and connection to the community. Running activities reinforce lesson objectives, helping girls train for the end-of-season 5K run.

This year, GOTR is supported by presenting sponsor R. Seelaus & Company, Inc., a Summit, NJ-based financial services firm.

Currently celebrating 16 years of serving girls in New Jersey, GOTR NJ East has grown to include sites in Mercer, Burlington, Essex, Morris, and Union counties. Locally, the program will be provided at Village Park in Lawrenceville.

The fall season runs from mid-September through mid-November. The program fee is $195, and financial assistance is available.

Program registration is first come, first served. We seek sponsors and donors to enable us to serve more girls in areas of our council territory where scholarship needs tend to be high, an initiative we call Every Girl Can Run!
