The Mercer County Sheriff's Office will be hosting the event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Trenton

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting free child car seat safety checks this Saturday.

The event, held in coordination with AAA Northeast will be held at the Mercer County Administration Building parking lot at 640 South Broad Street, Trenton, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Every day, children ride in car seats installed incorrectly or are riding in the wrong car seat for their particular age and size,” Sheriff Jack Kemler said in a statement. “It is also important to learn when to transition your child to another type of seat as they grow older.”

The Sheriff’s Office regularly conducts these inspections in partnership with AAA Northeast to help parents, grandparents, or caregivers to properly secure their children in motor vehicles.
