Free guided birding trip at Allentown Sod Farm with Washington Crossing Audubon Society
Migrating and local birds. Public invited.
Join Washington Crossing Audubon Society (www.washingtoncrossingaudubon.org) at 9:00 AM on Saturday, August 20 for a free, public birding trip led by Brad Merritt and Charles Brine at Allentown Sod Farm, where we will look for such migrating shorebirds as Baird’s, Pectoral, Upland and Buff-breasted Sandpipers, and Gold and Black-bellied plovers, in addition to sparrows and Horned Larks. Directions: Located off CR539 in Allentown, NJ, we will meet at the open space parking lot at the intersection of Herbert Rd and New Sharon Rd. Take I-195 to exit 8 and head north onto CR539, to Herbert Rd. Turn left, proceed to first intersection and then turn left onto New Sharon Rd. The gravel parking lot is immediately on the left.
