Free guided birding trip at Whitesbog Village with Washington Crossing Audubon Society
Birding the Pine Barrens with Washington Crossing Audubon Society. Public invited.
Join Washington Crossing Audubon Society (www.washingtoncrossingaudubon.org) at 9:00 AM on Saturday, August 13 for a free, public birding trip led by Brad Merritt to explore part of the Pine Barrens. Whitesbog, in Burlington County, is an old village with cranberry bogs that are accessed by a drivable dike system that allows study of wildlife and habitat. Shorebirds, Gull-billed terns and passerines should be the highlight. Please contact Brad Merritt at 609-921-8964 to register or in case of inclement weather.
Directions: From Trenton area, take Rte. 206 south for 15 miles to the Red Lion circle and go east on Rte. 70 for approximately 12 miles. Turn left on CR570 and look for entrance to Whitesbog Village on right.
