Funeral Service Set For Lawrence High School Student Killed In Crash

Service for Daijah McKithen will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Central Church, 2015 Pennington Road, Ewing.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The funeral service for the Lawrence teen who was killed in a crash, has been scheduled for Tuesday.

McKithen’s funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Central Church, 2015 Pennington Road, Ewing.

Calling hours have been scheduled from 9 a.m. until the time of the service, according to the obituary. The interment will be held at Ewing Cemetery.

The fundraiser surpassed its goal of raising $15,000, with community members and friends contributing, $21,533.

Around 12:17 p.m. on June 1, police responded to the area of Brunswick Pike (Route 1) and Franklin Corner Road for a report of a motor vehicle crash.

The sedan that McKithen was driving and a dump truck collided and crashed into a gas pump at the nearby Shell station. McKithen was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The truck driver, Suleyman Durdu, 28 from Bordentown, sustained moderate non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, McKithen made an abrupt left turn towards Franklin Corner Road across several lanes of traffic, leading to the fatal crash.
