Head-Shaving Event At Lawrence Restaurant To Raise Funds For Cancer

This year marks the 16th anniversary of this community event.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — Amalfi Restaurant in Lawrenceville will be hosting a hybrid head-shaving event on March 11 to fund research for children’s cancer.

The event is being hosted by St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the largest private funder for children’s cancer research.

This year marks the 16th anniversary of this community event. The cumulative fundraising of this annual turnout is over $1.6 million and continues to grow, according to the foundation.

Started by local chiropractors Drs. Michael and Melissa McCue, the family-friendly event will honor children affected by cancer and include a ceremonial shaving of heads to stand in solidarity with children in the midst of cancer treatment.

Participants have the option to participate virtually as well from a location of their choice. Local schools will also host team shave events, the foundation said.

Registration is open. Participants can sign up for the St. Baldrick’s “Lawrenceville2023” event at www.stbaldricks.org. Instructions will be provided to the registrants prior to the event.
