Hinkle Prior & Fischer Welcome Angelo Onofri, Esq.

Former Mercer County Prosecutor to Represent Children and Adults with Disabilities and Their Families

Lawrenceville, NJ - Hinkle Prior & Fischer, Attorneys at Law, a statewide firm serving people with developmental disabilities and their families, is pleased to announce former Mercer County Prosecutor, Angelo J. Onofri, Esq., has joined the practice, bringing with him decades of legal experience.

For the last 28 years, Onofri has worked at the Mercer County Prosecutors Office. In 2016, he was appointed by the Governor to serve as Mercer County Prosecutor, where he led the office of more than 200 staff. Before joining the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, he served as the deputy Mercer County counsel and as an assistant municipal prosecutor for the city of Trenton. Since 2006, he served as an instructor at the Mercer County Police Academy teaching Constitutional Law, New Jersey Criminal Justice System, Search and Seizure and other legal topics.

Onofri is a dedicated volunteer currently serving on the board of Special Olympics New Jersey. He is active with the Law Enforcement Torch Run for SONJ where he has helped to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for SONJ. Angelo is chair of the Mercer County Bar Foundation. A long-time resident of Hamilton NJ, Onofri is well-known and respected in the legal community.

A graduate of Villanova University’s Charles Widger School of Law, he earned his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University in Political Science. He is admitted to the New Jersey Bar and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Since 1974, Hinkle, Prior & Fischer has focused on legal representation of those with autism and other developmental disabilities, in areas including special education, guardianship, SSI, Estate Planning and access to appropriate services for children and adults with disabilities. Onofri will handle matters in all of the firm’s practice areas and will also provide subject matter expertise in matters where individuals with disabilities are involved with the criminal justice system.
