How to Get the Most Out of Your Commercial Cleaning Service

Do your research before choosing a New Jersey cleaning company to ensure that you're getting the highest quality work for your money.

It’s every business’s nightmare: you hire a professional cleaner to keep your property spic and span, but before long you start to notice problems. Maybe they’re doing great at some tasks, but seem to be completely ignoring others. Or your bills are significantly higher than you were originally led to believe. Or you’ve noticed that a specific employee isn’t pulling his or her weight, but your complaints seem to fall on deaf ears.

With so many commercial cleaning companies around the New Jersey area, it can be difficult to know which one is right for your business, so the best thing that you can do is plan and research ahead of time.

Know your needs. This is probably the single most important thing that businesses should figure out before they start contacting cleaners. If you can clearly detail the tasks that you’re going to require from them, most cleaners should be able to give you a fairly good estimate of the manpower and cost involved. Creating this list is also a great way to weed out cleaners, because if you have to have a company that can deal with medical waste, it’s going to eliminate a lot of them.

Measure. Want the cost estimate to be as accurate as possible? Measure the area that you need cleaned so that you can tell the service when you call them. Most cleaners can tell you with a high degree of accuracy how long it will take to clean a specific area and how many employees you’ll need for the job. Plug this information in and you get your cost.

Check referrals. Eagle has been in the cleaning business for more than 15 years, and most of our work is through repeat business and referrals. Unfortunately, there are a lot of supposed professionals out there who don’t have that kind of track record. It’s quite easy (and cheap) to start a basic cleaning business, so plenty of companies exist that have only been doing this kind of work for months – or even weeks – and you don’t really know what you’re going to get.

Ask how they work. To get the most out your cleaning service, you owe it to yourself to learn their processes and how they do things. Can you get a crew to come in and clean for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? Do they rotate tasks (i.e. one week they’ll dust your blinds, the next they’ll dust your ceiling fans)? How will they deal with the situation if you are unhappy with a particular service or employee? When are they available for you to contact them and by what methods?

When you contact Eagle, we’ll happily answer any questions that you have for us, and one of our owners will work hand-in-hand with you to create a personalized cleaning plan that fits the budget and needs of your New Jersey business.
