LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — Lawrence High School (LHS) will be celebrating its first-ever Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Month on Friday.
The event will highlight the experiences and contributions of the AAPI communities and will take place at the LHS Media Center.
The celebration at Lawrence High School aims to provide representation and honor the communities within the school’s diverse student body.

This event will showcase the influence of the Fujian Fu culture, offering an opportunity to learn and appreciate customs and traditions.
The celebration will include activities such as Chinese Calligraphy, Chinese paper cutting, and a Chinese Tea Ceremony, along with Fujian food and drink tasting. There will also be a gift exchange ceremony.

Mayor John Ryan will be in attendance. Lawrence High School said it hopes to make this celebration an annual tradition. “We believe that events like these contribute to a healthy school environment where all cultures are recognized, celebrated, and respected,“ the school said.
The event begins at 8:05 a.m. and ends at 11:45 a.m.
