Captain Paul's captures Boomerang !
"Why couldn't the weather be like this for Opening Day", was a quote I heard most often this Saturday, April 12th. Another was, "What a great day for a game." The weather did not disappoint and neither did Captain Paul's.
Boomerang's late game charge was not enough to overcome the 10-5 loss at Hughes field against Captain Paul's.

Boomerang's starting pitcher, "Ace" Garrett Maloney came out strong and had four strikeouts before walking four on full counts. Assisting on the mound were Shea McQuire, Chris Nevius and "Chap" Turner who each had strikeouts of their own but also gave away walks.
Captain Paul's Ameer Hasan kept the bats of Boomerang's silent for three solid innings and he was assisted by Max Crouthamel, Sean Hoffman, Aidan Loughran. Kevin DallePazze was the master behind the plate holding off several attempts made by possible scoring runs from runners at second and third.

Captain Paul's quickly got on the boards and it was a triple in the second by Sean Hoffman who got the crowd going and also their momentum. The score went 8-0 after three innings and it seemed as though Captain Paul's was going to walk away with an easy win. Not so.
Boomerang answered back with three runs in the bottom of the third from John Calcavale, Sebastian Centeno and Miles Kron on stolen bases with errors made by Captain Paul's infielders. Still leading 8-3 in the fourth, Captain Paul's bats slowed as Boomerangs pitchers Shea McQuire and Chris Nevius threw effortlessly and held them off.
Captain Paul's got a second wind in the fourth and scored two with stolen bases from errors made by Boomerang's infielders, bringing home Ameer Hasan and Sean Hoffman. At 10-3 it was still anybody's game.
Garrett Maloney tripled in the fourth and stole home bringing the score to 10-4 while Boomerang's Thomas scored in the sixth making it 10-5.
It was too late and not enough for Boomerang's to take the lead from Captain Paul's. Closer Aidan Loughran and several key plays ended the game quickly at 10-5.
