N.J. School Assignment Asks 8th Graders About Sex, Herpes, Drinking

"This is vulgarity at the utmost," one parent said.

An assignment for a N.J. school reportedly asked students to give their opinion about going to a party, blacking out and contracting herpes after having sex with a stranger.

The work is rooted in a study guide for “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens,” which is part of the part of the school’s core curriculum, according to NBC10.

“This is vulgarity at the utmost,” Amy Loper, a parent of a Myron L. Powell Elementary School student in Lawrence in Cumberland County, told NBC10.

“You had a really rotten day, but lucky for you your best friend is having an awesome party later,” nj.com reported, taking from the assignment. It also says:

“You go to the party and start drinking. You have a little too much to drink and start talking to this girl/guy you’ve never seen before. You head upstairs to get better acquainted despite several friends telling you that you don’t even know this person. You end up having sex with this person.”
