Lawrence Township To Host Community Day On Sunday

Food trucks, arts and crafts, music, and more - the Lawrence Township Community Day is back this year and promises to be fun.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — Enjoy the perfect weekend weather and celebrate Community Day in Lawrence Township on Sunday.

On Sunday, Oct. 3 from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m., the township will celebrate its annual Community Day event at Central Park. There will be lots of food, music, local vendors. The township's Community Day is returning after it was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Although the threat of COVID-19 still lingers, Kevin P. Nerwinski said the Township is taking all health and safety precautions to ensure residents have a good time.

“We are excited to have the return of Community Day as an event sponsored by the Township. It is important for the community to again be able to gather and reconnect with each other," said Nerwinski.

"Though Covid-19 remains a serious threat to our health and safety, we now have vaccines to add to our ability to protect ourselves along with the other safeguards of masking and social distancing. We hope that those that attend are respectful of others and will do their part to keep the event as safe as possible. These are challenging times, but we must also take the cautious steps to return to some normalcy.”

Many vendors and non-profits have signed up to participate in the Township's Community Day.

Vendors like House of Cupcakes, Regency Desserts, Deputy Dawg, and Cafe du Pain will have their food trucks. The Lawrence Police Department is expected to showcase their drone and children will also have the opportunity to "touch a truck." Expect a whole lot of arts and crafts vendors as well.

The League of Women Voters of Lawrence Township will have a voter service table.
