Lawrenceville Man Who Admitted Paying Children To Perform Online Sex Acts Sentenced

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — A Lawrenceville man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after he admitted to paying a child to engage in sexually explicit conduct and stream it online, Acting U.S. Attorney William E. Fitzpatrick said on Thursday.

Curtis E. Thompson, 32, previously pleaded guilty to an information charging him with one count of production of child pornography. Thompson has been in custody since he was charged on Nov. 10, 2015.

Thompson admitted that from May through September of 2015, he communicated with a person younger than 18 and their friends on Facebook Messenger and through Facetime on his phone, according to documents filed in the case and statements made in court.

He admitted that he encouraged them to engage in sexual acts and record it and stream it online, and that he offered them money to do so, authorities said.

Thompson is also subject to a lifetime of supervised release.
