Lawrenceville Students Advance in National History Day Competition

Five groups and two individuals move on to the New Jersey State History Day competition on Saturday, May 7 at William Paterson University.

Students from Lawrenceville Middle School competed in the National History Day regional competition at Princeton University on Saturday, March 5 and have advanced to the New Jersey State History Day competition on Saturday, May 7, scheduled to take place at William Paterson University in Wayne.

Victoria Chen, Aishvarya Indiran, Charu Jain and Rikki Kong presented a group documentary on Chinese Immigration. Kaia Dyckman and Annie Yao presented on Moses Fleetwood Walker. Ian Wang, Ben Wiggins and Nick Zhou discussed NASA, with an additional group presentations on Sir Edmund Hillary from Disha Bharj and Riddhi Bharj, the Tuskeegee airmen from Jack Collins, Ean Dauer, Devon Meth and Tucker Simpson as well as feminism and the 1940s from Grace Neuger and Saloni Sharma. Arjun Agarwal and John Weaver presented a group documentary on the Hubble Space Telescope. Further presentations were given by Zoe Lang on Jerusalem and Hope Perry with the Statue of Liberty. Lina Chihoub presented on Pocahontas.
